Scout Adventures Great Tower

One of The Scout Association's national centres in the heart of the Lake District, between Bowness-on-Windermere and Newby Bridge.

The site, covering 250 acres of woodland and craggy outcrops, offers three campsites in one: a busy activity centre in the middle, a back-to-basics campsite to the east, and greenfield camping to the west. Also featuring eight indoor accommodation lodges and a tented village.

Offering a huge range of instructed and self-led activities, training courses and leader permit training and assessment this is a site that has something for everyone.

Park House

Indoor accommodation for Scouts and Guides in the centre of Hawkshead consting of two dormitories over two floors with a total of 23 beds, and two four-bedded rooms. Large hall, kitchen, toilets and showers including accessible facilities. Walled garden with barbecue and picnic tables to the rear. Large public playing field nearby.

Easy access to Grizedale Forest and Claife Heights for walking and mountain biking.

South Lakeland Scout Base

Headquarters of the 1st Grange and Cartmel Scout Group situated on the edge of Cartmel village. Provides simple indoor accommodation for up to 40 and camping for up to five tents near the building.
